Enjoy Delicious Craft Beers in East Lansing!
It’s no secret that we Michiganders have some of the best beer in the United States. On top of the many microbreweries throughout Michigan, we’re also home to two of the most beloved breweries from sea to shining sea: Founder’s Brewing Company and Bell’s Brewery.
Here at Spare Time Entertainment Center, we believe in keeping Michigan’s long tradition of delicious craft beers alive. At Spare Time, we understand the importance that trying new, delicious craft beers on tap with friends and family has; it builds community and deepens bonds.
With that in mind, we’re taking this month’s blog post to explore some of our delicious craft beers on tap.
Light Craft Beers
If you’re new to drinking craft beers on tap, then you’ll probably want to start with lighter craft beers, such as ales and shandies. Here at Spare Time, we offer a wide variety of delicious light beers to choose from, such as:
Bell’s “Oberon Ale”. Oberon is a must-try for anyone who hasn’t had one before. Oberon is known far and wide for its smooth feel, fruity, orange undertones, and summery flavor.
Short’s “Local’s Light”. Local’s light is the epitome of Joe Short’s beer brewing ideology: to make “beer in its simplest form.” This lager is crisp, clean, and tastes of malt, wheat, and barley.
Old Nation’s “Shandy”. This tasty, summery shandy is a blend of lemonade and classic lager that’s known for its sweet, subtle, and distinctly bright taste.
India Pale Ales (IPAs)
For the uninitiated, India Pale Ales (IPAs) are a hoppy style of beer which was popularized as an export of the British East India Company (hence the name). IPAs are generally more bitter and have a higher alcohol content, but don’t be fooled; these craft beers are renowned for their delicious, subtle notes. Some of the IPAs we offer are:
Old Nation’s “M-43”. The M-43 is designed to capture citrusy and tropical notes in a slightly bitter, hoppy flavor.
Dogfish Head’s “90 Minute IPA”. This is a great option for anyone who wants to get into IPAs but is worried about an overly hoppy taste. The 90-Minute IPA carefully balances a combination of malt and hops, giving it a powerful (but not overbearing) flavor.
Bell’s “Two-Hearted Ale”. Bell’s Two-Hearted Ale is wildly popular in the United States, and it’s easy to see why. This dry, hoppy IPA has faint notes of citrus and a delicious, hazy flavor that’s not to be missed.
